At the annual swimming championship for secondary schools across Kent including Medway and the London Boroughs of Bromley and Bexley, Dane Court Grammar School finished as Top School after a series of excellent individual and relay swims.
The event was held at the recently refurbished Medway Park in Gillingham across two weekends in February.
The Junior Team (years seven, eight and nine) were particularly dominant with Lauren Joy, Laura Craig and Kyri Papa-Adams all winning Gold in their individual events.
Trees for Thanet is a local initiative, we currently have 7 students volunteering for them to plant trees in and around Thanet.
They are in the process of completing their Bronze or Silver Service section for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
A lovely group of 6th formers helped the community and contributed towards their IB CAS hours by working for the Broadstairs Chamber of Commerce in the Broadstairs Christmas Bonanza on the 3rd Dec 2010.
In preparation to the weekend they produced fantastic signs and displays for the organisations involved to use and gave up many lunch times and stayed after school to make sure that they were completed for the weekend.
