On Thursday 16 January, both Dane Court Grammar School and King Ethelbert School enjoyed a visit from the Education and Childcare Minister, Elizabeth Truss, as well as Laura Sandys MP and Sir Roger Gale MP.
The Minister wanted to see at first hand the International Baccalaureate Careers Related Certificate (IBCC) that is offered at both schools, as well as a number of other Kent schools, including Ellington Hereson, Hartsdown and Sandwich Technology School.

Health and Social Care Students Entertain

Health and Social Care students from Dane Court entertained residents at Yoakley Homes and students at The Royal School for Deaf with their pantomime 'Cinderella'.
The script was written and directed by Year 12 students Rochella Fletcher and Grace Offen. The students prepared and served a tea for the Yoakley residents, including a scrumptious Christmas cake. Allysha Crow and Georgina Jaconelli, who played the part of Fairy Godmothers also made a pass the parcel for the residents. This went down very well as it reminded many of them of their childhood days.

Dane Court students win seats on Kent Youth County Council

The Kent Youth County Council gives young people the opportunity to have their say on important issues and to get involved in making a difference to the lives of young residents. Four young people are elected to represent each district in Kent, as well as 12 young people elected to Community Seats, ensuring representation of all Kent's communities.
This year three students from Dane Court were elected to represent their community and give their time freely to support and develop policy on a whole range of youth related matters.
