Our opposition had travelled from Brentwood in Essex and brought with them a reputation of consistent success both within their county and within the English Schools Competition to match our continued high standards within Kent and in the National Competition so far. They also brought with them players from Southend, West Ham and Arsenal Academies to match our Gillingham cohort and ensure that there would be no easy victory for either team.

Special recognition must go to Daniel Adams who has been a regular member of the Kent U14 football team this year and will be travelling to Liverpool this weekend for a Counties National Cup semi final.

Students test themselves against the best
Just before the Christmas vacation several students from years 11, 12 and 13 entered the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge. This is a true test of mathematical skills, logic, ingenuity and flexibility and yet again several students from Dane Court stood up to the challenge.
William Grover from year 13 achieved a Gold Award and the 'Best in School Award', whilst Adam Jones and Sarah Harley from year 12 both gained a Silver. Rhiannon Hiscock and Mhari Stevenson from year 12 achieved Bronzes whilst Xinming Yu from year 11 was awarded the same level.

Under 14 Kent Cup Quarter Final
This was our third year in a row at the quarter final stage and that in itself is no mean feat. Our visitors were Holmesdale today and their results coming into the game indicated a strong team as did the presence of a Kent and Gillingham striker in their team as well as a number of other Gillingham academy players. Unlike the Senior game at the weekend conditions were perfect for football.
