In our IBCP Language Development class, we had a Japanese cooking lesson and made two different Japanese noodle dishes. The steps to both of the recipes were simple and easy to follow. We worked well together as a group to make chicken udon noodle soup which was my personal favourite and soba noodle. The soba noodles were noodles served with dipping sauce.
Fin and Amy said 'It was really enjoyable. The dishes tasted very nice and flavoursome and everyone ate lots of it. It gave us an interesting and fun insight on a common dish they eat in Japan'. Ms Myers commented 'It was great to see the students enjoyed cooking and tried the Japanese noodle dishes. Some students asked me to share the recipes as they wanted to make it again! I hope the lesson encouraged the students to be open minded to try something new from other countries. Well done, everyone.’
Here are the recipes if you would like to make these dishes. Most ingredients are available in supermarkets or online.

We were very pleased to receive this letter recognising the quality of our modern foreign languages provision, from the Minister of State for Schools. Language learning is central to our broad, challenging and international curriculum.
"In an increasingly globalised economy, it has never been more important for our pupils to be taught modern foreign languages. Languages help young people understand culture and societies beyond our own and they help widen career opportunities.
I would like to congratulate your staff and pupils for their hard work and success."
Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP
Minister of State for Schools

ADM Computing, Canterbury Archaeological Trust, On Architecture, Border Force, right through to Pfizer and Vattenfall Energy were present at our Exhibition Careers Fair 2022. Dane Court students had the opportunity to gather information, speak to employers and try out exhibition pieces as part of our careers fair. After a four year gap, the variety of local, national and international businesses, organisations, and higher education training providers who attended our careers fair yesterday, was broad and enlightening. They were able to give students insight into a variety of industry careers and opportunities open to them, and the pathways that will take them there. Dane Court would like to thank all exhibitors for their valuable time and Education Business Partnership Kent for arranging the event.
The Dane Court Grammar School Parents Association's monthly boot fairs usually take place at the school from 6:30am on the second Saturday of each month with breaks over winter and during the summer holiday.
