Google Apps Creative Jazz Orchestra Workshop

On Thursday 14 September 2017, 12 students from years 7 to 12 joined two accomplished jazz musicians (one ex- Dane Court Pupil) in a Jazz Journey workshop in conjunction with The Deal Festival. Pupils learnt about improvising, leading and performed Watermelon Man (Herbie Hancock) as a group.
Students will also be working with other musicians from other schools, performing and composing their own piece. The workshops will end in a joint performance on Sunday 26 November 2017, 6:30pm at Godwin Academy, Hamilton Road, Deal, CT14 9BD.
Earlier this year our choir travelled to France to perform at Disneyland Paris
AroundNorth composition workshop in conjunction with Deal Festival - Monday 3 July 2017.
The Dane Court Jazz Band will be performing at this event.
Various students came together to perform at the Music Showcase Concert on Friday 5 May at The Sarah Thorne Theatre, Broadstairs. There were a variety of different performances from classical to pop music from students in year 7 to year 13, and staff performances too. Evan Williams performed English Rose by Paul Weller and Hallelujah by Jeff Buckley, which he had also performed as part of his GCSE Music Solo Performance. Our international students Ingrid Myrland Johansen and Johanna Steinvorth performed a Ukulele duet of Dream a Little Dream of Me by The Mamas and the Papas.
