Earlier this year our choir travelled to France to perform at Disneyland Paris
We arrived in Paris on Sunday and boarded the Bateaux Mouches for a river cruise on the Seine. In the late sun of the afternoon we captured some of the iconic sites of Paris – the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame Cathedral, Les Invalides and the Louvre. We stayed in the Disneyland district at the pleasant Explorers hotel which included an impressive Aquapark.
On Monday the excitement mounted as we arrived at the Artist’ entrance to Disneyland, the Pluto Gate. We experienced the backstage world of the Videopolis Theatre in which we were announced and ushered on to perform our 20 minute programme, which included popular music such as ‘Rolling In The Deep’ by Adele, contemporary repertoire and a really fun medley of a Disney Singalong. Charlotte Page (7S) performed a solo of ‘Who Will Buy’ from the hit Musical Oliver and Lola Walton (7T) performed a solo of ‘Just the Way You Are’ by Bruno Mars, with choir accompanying. All performers did brilliantly and The Disney performance crew were thrilled with our professionalism and we equally, enjoyed the experience. The rest of the day was ours to seek thrills on the park rides.
The next day we travelled to Boulogne to explore the old town and started our return back to the UK and buy some excellent souvenirs.
Congratulations to all the performers, it was a fantastic performance and something I am sure will be remembered for a long time to come.
Next year we hope to take the Choir, Orchestra and Rock band on tour to Italy in late 2018!
