Congratulations to all who performed as part of Our Choral Concert Evening on Tuesday 28 March 2016 at St. Peter’s Church, Broadstairs. The audience were treated to a feast of music with Solo Organ and Oboe as part of the evenings performances.

Many members of the Junior and Senior Choir joined the church choir to perform Vivaldi’s Gloria, with soloists Bridget Tizzard and Claire Troth. Thank you to everyone involved!

Looping the Loop Workshop and Performance

Forty students from year 7 to year 11 took part in the Looping the Loop Music Project. The workshop took place over two days, with composer Jon Barber and members of Garsington Opera who worked with students to explore the themes and story of Eugene Onegin.

Students had the opportunity to sing with professional opera singers and compose their own music. On Thursday October 2016 pupils performed their own compositions and scenes of the opera alongside five other primary and secondary schools.

Musicians enjoy Lion King Workshop

On Wednesday 29 March members of the choir and GCSE music students descended on London to take part in a movement and voice workshop at Pineapple Studios in Covent Garden.
Students worked on creating four part harmonies based around the Lion King and even rehearsed a choreographed section of The Musical.
The group went on to watch the award winning musical at The Lyceum Theatre, which was absolutely brilliant. An excellent time was had by all.

House Music Cup 2017

The House Music Cup Competition took place on Friday 17 March and we welcomed guest judges Mark Smith and Louise van der Linden.
Thank you to everyone who contributed and well done to Sorrento for winning the house cup overall and all the individuals and groups for their hard work.
