Tuesday 13th September saw Tallinn's first celebration and reward assembly with Ryan Latchman, Christopher Yates and Megan Jackson being nominated for great achievements. However the first stripes of the year were earnt by Thomas McGuirk for a wonderful effort and positive attitude at the start of the year.
What can the Dane Court houses learn from Helsinki house? Quite a lot, it seems. Why? Well:
Dane Court Grammar School has six houses...
one of those houses is called Helsinki...
Helsinki is the name of the capital of Finland...
and Finland is the undisputed capital of crazy (some would say pointless) competitions.
This year's sports day saw the biggest and best entries yet - and the best managed to withstand the drizzle and wind!
Welcome to the main house section of the Dane Court site!
Students in years eight to 13 will be familiar with the way the house system has brought everyone together for competitions and end-of-term events. From this term the house system will be a much more significant part in everyone's school experience as it will form the basis for the pastoral structure too. However, the competitions will still require lots of enthusiastic participation from everyone and we look forward to having sixth form events too!

New Year sevens will have weekly quizzes organised by our Year 11 prefects.
Please let your house captains know if you have any ideas for new events and, more importantly - get involved with participating or organising!
