Kent Mountain Centre 2017

IMG 5194 250pxThirty seven year 9 students travelled to North Wales last week (29 October to 4 November 2017) to experience the challenging and unique mountain terrain of the Snowdonia National Park and the spectacular coastal cliffs on the island of Anglesey.

Blessed with a week of fantastic dry weather, they scrambled their way over some of the most challenging peaks and tackled the wettest of wet activities. At the same time they learned a great deal about living independently while working together. Staying at Kent County Coucil's own Mountain Centre, the 'full-on' programme saw our students occupied every day from dawn till dusk and and then out again after dinner to solve some practical team tasks in the Centre grounds or sample the indoor challenges at the impressively equipped local climbing wall. As always, the mark of a successful week at the Kent Mountain Centre was a coach-full of very happy and very tired students sleeping most of the three hundred mile journey home.

You can read about each group’s adventures and see photos by visiting the blog which they all contributed to during our stay.

The next visit will take place in November 2018 and is open to any students who will be in year 9 by that time.
