Kent Mountain Centre 2015

RIMG1073 250pxOn the last day of the Autunm half term holiday 36 lucky year nine students embarked on our annual trip to the mountains and sea cliffs of North Wales.

Dane Court groups have been visiting to the Kent Mountain Centre (KMC) on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park for nearly 40 years. This year's visit saw the total number of Dane Court students who have visited pass the 1000 mark (some of them visited the Centre twice or even three times in the 1990s when we ran three trips a year so the total number of student visits is nearer to 1200).

DSCF9041 250pxKMC is an outdoor education centre specialising in adventurous activities on land and water. Our students concentrate on mountain walking, scrambling and climbing, spending the majority of their week exploring the mountains and crags in the Snowdonia National Park and the sea cliffs around Anglesey. The evening progamme is just as active with visits to the local indoor climbing wall and outdoor problem-solving challenges in KMC's extensive grounds.

In addition to all this excitement our students found time each evening to record their adventures in words and pictures. You can see the resulting blog here.

The visit is popular, outstanding value for money and always over subscribed.
The next visit takes place in November 2016 and information letters are currently available to year eight students.
