The annual Business of Enterprise Project was launched amid a frenzy of activity from the year ten students on Friday 18 January. This fantastic project is now in its tenth year and is not only good fun, very instructive but is a wonderful model for learning. The whole year group dressed in their finery (i.e. smart business wear), looked the part and through a series of workshops in the morning received excellent instruction in how to continue with and fulfill the project's aims.
Each small group of students is charged with instigating and developing a virtual company offering their own unique product or service. For this they have to produce a viable business plan complete with sound financial principles culminating in presenting their visions to the rest of the year group. The skills developed over the length of this task will prove beneficial in all their academic work and future life skills in their chosen careers. The evidence is lived out in the former students who are now putting those skills to good use at universities and in businesses all over the world. There is a competitive element to the course and the school has had enviable success so far and we look forward to the possibility of one of this years groups repeating the success of last year's school winners who went on to win the county final. We wish all groups across the year their own measure of success and hope that they continue to work with the enthusiasm shown on launch day.
