Dane Court Grammar School once again dominated the Kent Schools Biathlon Championships held at the Tonbridge School on Sunday 21 October 2012. Dane Court fielded an incredibly strong team of swimmers but for the second year running walked away with the best Secondary School award.

The Modern Biathlon comprises of either a 50m or 100m swim followed by a 500m or 1000m run depending on the year group. Points are awarded for each discipline and final positions are decided by the total number of points achieved after both disciplines.

Alexander Wilmshurst won the Year nine boys having won both the swim and the run. Lauren Joy won the Year 10/11 girls also having won the swim and followed by a gutsy performance in the run. Ailsa Macrae just missed out on top spot and finished second overall having come second in the swim and sixth in the run.

Also the Year seven girls won the Team Event holding off the Tonbridge School by just three points. The Team consisted of Tamsin Wilmshurst, Robyn Moon, Mia Lamb and Holly Cleveland. Individually Tamsin came third and Robyn fourth.

There were other top six places for brothers Josh Jones in the swim (fourth) and Daniel Jones who finished fifth overall after a fourth place in the swim. Lauren Palmer-Jones having finished 1st in the swim overall finished in fourth place.
