This week we celebrated National Careers Week with a series of talks from a broad range of industries. We would like to thank representatives, many of whom were Dane Court Alumni, from Flambeau Europlast, Kreston Reeves Accountancy, ADM Computing, Cummins Electrical Engineering, Kent Police, DDS Group, Migrant Help and Molly Pickle, for their interesting talks, that gave students insight into their roles and industries, and the pathways they can take to achieve their goals. Through these talks students are able to reflect on the vast array of employability skills they are developing at Dane Court and how they will use them in the future. We are very grateful to all the speakers for giving up their time, and look forward to welcoming them back in the near future.
National Careers Week 2022 continues online. Parents and students have access to the Education Business Partnership Kent Virtual Careers Fair until Monday 14 March 2022. Sit down, explore the many companies at the exhibition fair, and then listen to some of the talks in the theatre.
For parents and students looking to explore career options online, excellent resources can be found at https://www.prospects.ac.uk/
Furthermore, Michelle Donelan, Minister of State for Further and Higher Education, has written to you about the education, training and work choices available to young people after they finish their GCSEs and once they turn 18.
