Year seven experience rain forest wildlife in their classroom.
Niharigah Arulampalam, 7D, reports:
The Rainforest Road show was a completely different type of experience. I saw and held animals that I would never have dreamed of touching and seeing.
The fact that there were two people who told us all about the animals made me feel at ease when I held them. Many people were frightened and didn't want to touch the animals so they missed out on all the different experiences.
I liked the fact that it was just one class at a time so it wasn't crowded and we saw all the animals quicker. I also liked it when they told us where the animals live and what they eat.
They were unique creatures and I didn't feel like I wanted to leave, they kept all the creatures coming one after another. It was good to feel them and many had very surprising textures i.e. the lizards. And if we didn't want touch the animal then they didn't force us they just went to the next person. We were also allowed to take photos without flash so we had memories of the day.
Also it was all educational it was also fun. We were allowed to talk to our friends as long as we weren't too loud because some of the animals were very sensitive and may not be able to be seen for example the millipede would have curled up into a ball!
