Congratulations!
Amy, the first prize winner, commented 'Cooking and baking for the Japanese cooking competition was really fun and it was very interesting to learn about food from another culture. I will definitely try cooking more Japanese food in the future, and recommend everyone else does too, as it is delicious!'.
Mary Jennifer, the staff winner mentioned 'We had a fabulous day of Japanese cooking with my 3 sons. We made Baked Tonkatsu (Japanese Pork Cutlets), Maki sushi Rolls and also one of my favourite soups, Miso soup. I wanted to make a special Japanese dessert too but we ran out of time! We enjoyed preparing it and setting our table with old Oriental bowls and cutlery that I had for years but had never really used. We were very happy with our results and everything was delicious so thank-you so much for this idea and opportunity Ms Myers, we loved it and I will definitely make Sushi again!'
Well done to everyone who participated!

Our Japanese Cooking Competition was launched a while ago now. It was an opportunity for all Dane Court students, teachers and staff to try something new and spend a little more time away from digital screens during lockdown.
The idea is simple - you cook Japanese food, take a photo and upload to Mrs Myers' special Google Classroom with a brief description and comment on the dish.
Here are some of the entries made by excellent cooks and captured by talented photographers:
