Dane Court Grammar School is celebrating another year of outstanding GCSE results: 96% of students gained at least five GCSE passes at grades A*-C.
Among our outstanding students, Sarah Jones scored 12 A* grades and one A, Amy Napier and Alice Rawson both gained ten A* grades and at least two further A grades; Suzanne Fletcher and Esme Votta both gained nine A* and four A grades. Top-scoring boys were James Howard with nine A* and five A grades; Matthew Hancox, Daniel Van Hinsbergh and Alex Payne each gained seven A* and six A grades.
Science results were especially impressive, with 85% of students gaining A* and A grades in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. These excellent results mean that the large majority of students have secured the grades they need to progress to high-achieving sixth-form International Baccalaureate courses at Dane Court.
Head of School Andrew Fowler said “these superb results reflect the hard work of the students and the wonderful support they have received from their teachers and parents.”
Sarah Snaydon, Assistant Head, said “I am delighted with the success of our Year 11 students. They have worked very hard for these excellent grades, with a very significant number gaining four levels of progress. A number of students have overcome great personal hardship, and I am very proud of their success.”
Chair of Governors Dr V Austin commented, “As always, Governors are intensely proud of the achievements of students and staff at Dane Court.”

On Wednesday 3 July 2013 our GCSE engineering students spent the day learning about computer programming and robots.
On Monday 19 March, two students from years 8 and 9 had an opportunity to represent Dane Court at the Junior United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Challenge. The event was attended by a mixture of schools across Kent including Simon Langton Grammar and Kent College. The event took place over several rounds including 'Cross number' and 'Relays', which were very challenging and required a high level of organisation and perception.
On Friday 9 November, the Neuchatel House Meeting played host to the PRIDE Values Award presentations.
Dane Court students will join forces with King Ethelbert school students to work together making the news for real on 15 March 2012 as they take part in the BBC News School Report. The day will be an exciting experience for students who will be working to a tight deadline together as a team with the aim to publish the news by 1600 GMT on the News Day.
