Dane Court's first inter-house climbing competition took place between 20 November and 4 December. Each house was invited to enter up to 14 competitors (two from each year group). An impressive 55 students took up the challenge and turned up to compete in competition events at weekly intervals with thirty of those attending all three sessions.
Climbing skill varied enormously from those with several year's experience to complete novices. Nevertheless everyone had a great time and learned much about a rapidly growing sport.
Overall personal scores reveal some very impressive performances and not just by those with a lot of experience.
Official house results were worked out from a combination of number of climbs completed and the size of each house team: First: HelsinkiSecond: Neuchatel Third: Sorrento Fourth: Delphi Fifth: Barcelona Sixth: Tallinn |

The success of the competition was not just due to the enthusiasm of the competitors but also the reliability of the students and staff who willingly took on judging and organising duties.
Particular thanks go to Dominic Foord who volunteered to relinquish his place as a competitor to assist with planning and judging the competition.
