Supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital as our house charity was always going to be a worthy cause, and one that people care deeply about. In the run up to Christmas we took part in the GOSH festive poster campaign whereby staff and students could pay £1 and write a festive message on a sticker then attach it to a poster.
Thank you everyone that got involved and wrote a message. The posters with the messages were sent off at the end of term with the money raised to spread a little happiness at GOSH over the festive period. Together we raised £73.28; a great achievement, and of wonderful help and support to the children, their families and the staff at such a fantastic hospital.
In response to our donation, we received the following letter from GOSH in thanks:
Dear Friends,
Thank you so much for taking part in our Christmas Poster Appeal 2011 and for sending in your donation. As always, your kindness means so much to the all the staff and, most importantly, the children we care for at Great Ormond Street Hospital, especially at this time of the year.
Your gift and others like yours will turn into the things that can make all the difference to our young patients. We will be able to develop more pioneering treatments, carry out ground breaking research, buy newer equipment and provide more accommodation for our families...so they can stay with their child through these tough times.
But, for our patients, your gift will help do something really, really brilliant: you'll be helping many of them get better and get home. That's all many of the sick children we treat wish for.
Thank you once again for your donation, amazing things happen at Great Ormond Street Hospital every day. With your help we can keep the magic alive for our very ill children and their families.
Yours sincerely
