Helsinki House has voted voted to support a new charity this year.
Five charities were proposed by a number of students who each presented a short statement in our house meetings summarising the work of their preferred organisation.
The results were as follows:
David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation | 62 |
Macmillan Cancer Support | 37 |
Help for Heroes | 33 |
NSPCC | 20 |
Sky Rainforest | 19 |
In addition to choosing David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation as our main charity for 2012-2013, Helsinki House had earlier decided to vote on whether we would continue sponsoring a wolf at Wildwood Trust near Herne Bay.
The result was 160 votes for sponsorship and 65 against or no vote. So we have already renewed out support for Wildwood. You can go along to the animal park and see the Helsinki House plaque next to the animals we sponsor.
Every penny we raise as a house this school year will be donated to David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.
