Railway Swing Band rolling in to town

rsb 250pxWe are excited to tell you that Dane Court Grammar School will be hosting the Deal-based Railway Swing Band for a marvellous evening of family entertainment on Wednesday 4 March 2015.

Our own Dane Court Jazz Band will be playing in support.

Formed in 1992 the band consists of a mixture of professional musicians and serious amateur musicians whose ages range from 13 up to 88. The band plays only for charity concerts and performs approximately 15 times a year. They are proud that by their twenty first year they had raised over £200,000 for various charities.

As you will see, The Railway Swing Band is much larger than a standard big band which normally consists of 18 players. The enthusiasm of musicians young and old that love to play swing music means that the band on average is more than double that size and we are extremely fortunate to have them performing for us.

The band have recorded four CDs. The latest, titled 'Our Sounds - Platform 2', will be available for purchase on the night.

Tickets are £6 each on the door and the event starts at 7:30pm.
