On Sunday 30 September 2012 five of Dane Court's sixth form, led by Head Boy Dominic Woodward did their part to help increase the awareness of the
critically endangered tiger as part of International Tiger Day. Using their sports skills Zoe, Dominic and Ellison dressed as tigers and were supported by Wian and Beth, they engaged both young and old in a variety of sporting activities and in turn leading them to find out more about why tigers are under threat.
Supporting the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, who had an event running in Surrey and supporting those in Vladivostok, Novopokrovka and Luchegorsk in Russia, Ellison, Wian, Zoe, Beth and Dominic had a fun day and played an important role in creating awareness, increasing education and raising funds for the remaining 3000 tigers left in Asia.
Dom Woodard - "It feels great to do something that really helps, it saddens me to think that such an iconic species is so close to extinction."
