Once again year 10 and 11 students at Dane Court Grammar School have achieved excellent results in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) national intermediate mathematics competition entered by over 200,000 students across the country. Daniel Corless and Dawn Wickenden of year 11, with Yu-Meng Li from year 10, produced outstanding result to proceed to the next round of the competition, with another 6 students being awarded gold certificates. A further eleven students achieved silver whilst seven students received a bronze certificate.
Mrs Linda Felstead, assistant headteacher, said that she was extremely delighted with the success of students in this year's competitions, especially as so many of them had enjoyed the change of emphasis in the question style from their normal mathematics lessons.
Next month students from year 8 and 9 will participate in the annual UKMT team challenge at Hartsdown Technology College.
