Adam Jones, aged 16, came top of his class at Dane Court Grammar School in the recent UKMT Mathematics Intermediate Challenge. He receives a gold certificate along with Zoe Woodward-Lebihan (year eleven) and Sam Kenneford (year ten). Seven year eleven students received silver certificates along with one year ten student;  a further nine students  received bronze.

Meanwhile the team of year 9 students Yu-Meng Li and Bobby Harrop, with year eight students Sophie Todd and Alex Payne were the top Thanet school in the regional finals of the team challenge at Hartsdown Technology College, also run by the UKMT. Despite working well throughout the rounds, they were finally beaten by a strong team from Simon Langton Boys' School in Canterbury.

Assistant Headteacher, Mrs Felstead, is delighted with their attitude and achievements. In the team challenge the students proved that their team working skills were as good as their Mathematics!
