On Friday 9 November, the Neuchatel House Meeting played host to the PRIDE Values Award presentations.
Inspired by the London Olympics, medals were awarded by members of the Physical Education Department to six outstanding students who have shown commitment and enthusiasm and embraced the following Olympic and Paralympic Values in their sporting endeavours:
- Personal excellence
- Respect and friendship
- Inspiration
- Determination and courage
- Equality
GOLD medal winners were ELLEN WHITEHEAD (10N) in recognition of her outstanding personal achievements in Netball and Athletics along with the determination and commitment she shows in every sports activity she represents Dane Court at, and ELI VOTTA (6S3) who has been continuously involved in sport throughout his time at Dane Court, he is an inspirational role model who always gives 100% to every team he is a member of.
SILVER medals were awarded to JACK DOWNER (10S) a highly skilful and determined games player with an acute sense of fair play, who has shown great support and commitment to his team mates, and GRANT WHITEMAN (6S2) who has led by example on the rugby pitch and plays with courage, great skill and intelligence.
BRONZE medals were presented to MOLLY DAWSON who has represented the school at a variety of events and has proved herself to be a responsible team player, much respected by her peers for her determination and friendship, and to CHARLOTTE TONKISS who has developed both her Netball and Tennis skills to a high level through dedication, determination and lots of practice!
The GOLD medal Staff award went to Mrs WHATLEY in recognition of the many many years that she has run Trampolining Club on Friday nights. Despite incurring injuries, she has still ensured the Club continued to run – even when it meant coaching from a wheelchair!
Congratulations to all medal winners and we hope that you will be life-long members of the sporting community. Gold medallists have been invited to the Thanet Pride Award Presentation evening to be held at The Ursuline College on the evening of Thursday 15 November.
