On Monday 19 March, two students from years 8 and 9 had an opportunity to represent Dane Court at the Junior United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Challenge. The event was attended by a mixture of schools across Kent including Simon Langton Grammar and Kent College. The event took place over several rounds including 'Cross number' and 'Relays', which were very challenging and required a high level of organisation and perception.
Esme Votta and Daniel Brown from year 9 were partnered by Samuel Nicholson and Charlotte Button from year 8.
In all 18 teams attended and Dane Court finished a very creditable seventh. Despite the high level of challenge the students enjoyed the day and gave them an opportunity to work with students from different age groups.
Thank you to Esme, Daniel, Samuel and Charlotte for their fantastic effort.
